Bangladesh's opposition BNP leader Khaleda Zia's British lawyer, Lord Carlisle, was sent back from Delhi airport.

BBC News correspondent Shubhoogoti Ghosh, from Delhi, reports from the media team of Lord Karlil, that Mr Karle arrived at Delhi airport on Wednesday night.

Immigration officials then told him that the Indian government withdrew his visa.

He was then handed over to London's return flight from Delhi airport.

There was no formal statement from the Indian authorities regarding this.

He was supposed to meet his journalists at a press conference in a five-star hotel in New Delhi on Thursday.

But now the press conference of Lord Carlisle has been canceled because of his media team.

Shuvojyoti Ghosh said that the government of Bangladesh had been objecting to India's visit to British Prime Minister Khaleda Zia's visit to Lord Carlail's Delhi.

Even after the Delhi Foreign Correspondents Club canceled its scheduled press conference on Friday, he wanted to hold a press conference in a five-star hotel in Delhi.

His media team was told that the case against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who was imprisoned in Bangladesh, was 'sort of' and 'politically motivated', which was meant to be explained by Mr. Carlyle's news conference.

Lord Carlisle could not enter India till the end.
